Just look at these beauties. These gourgeous mushrooms were picked by my last guests on the cycke track to Montemor last saturday. We had them for starters followed by rabbit with green olives and a quince jelly soaked cake and cream! Thanks to them for the pictures.

The house is set in the country side, by a railway station (no longer used by passengers) named Torre da Gadanha and with easy access to the nearest town Montemor-o-Novo (10km), to Évora, a world heritage site (40km), the atlantic coast (70km), Lisbon or Spain (100km). See map 'getting there'.
The surrounding area is Portugal's land of cork oaks, free range cows and sheep, cereal and wine production. Nearest shop at 7km.
Excelent for simply relaxing and well positioned for visiting the region of Alentejo, or Lisbon and the beaches only an hour away. An ideal retreat for work, small workshops, family holidays or a group of friends getting together. There is wireless connection to the world.

The house has 3 bedrooms, one with a doublebed, the other two are twins, two facing east and one facing west, and has one ample complete bathroom.

Lounge with 55m2 with a large log fireplace, billiard table, cards and small library with some books in English. We suggest you bring your music, there is a TV, DVD and CD player.

The house has a large fully equipped kitchen with dining area, offering two alternatives: self catering, allowing for full privacy, or breakfast included. Teresa can supply other meals by prior arrangement.

Possible to grill both inside and out.

There is also a bread oven for the most adventurous.
There is a small vegetable patch where you are welcome to pick seasonal vegetables.

The house is very cool in summer. In winter a log fire and underfloor heating provide warmth. Please refer to the slide show on the side for more pictures.

There are bicycles and helmets for adults and kids as there is a beautiful track of 12 km to Montemor-o-Novo along the old railway line connecting to other byways and quiet country roads. Baby chairs for the bicycles, are also available.
